Hi folks. In case you don’t know, the April 2013 edition of eSciFi is available on the Barnes and Noble website at:

    http://www.barnesandnoble.com/s/escifi?keyword=escifi&store=nookstore

Not sure why it isn’t on the main site but I’m sure it will be soon. I have one story in eSciFi and another in eNoir. Never received any communication that…[Read more]

Just wondering: I submitted a short story some time ago to eSciFi (another Dr. Carlos story) and haven’t heard anything. Is eSciFi now defunct? I’d like to put this in a new anthology, but I’m waiting to hear from someone at eFiction. (My apologies if I’ve missed some important news-I have two novels out so far in 2013 and am running a…[Read more]

Hey Steven, I wanted to let you know that I’m trying to get in contact with some of the other editors-you and one of my own writers from eHorror have had the same question about the acceptance in eSciFi, which I don’t believe to be defunct. Although I can’t say for sure, I believe many of our individual magazine managing editors are college…[Read more]

I had a family member try and download the Feb. Issue of ESci-Fi. I think because it’s currently free people can’t complete the transaction because Paypal won’t accept a payment of $0.00.

Hi everyone. Just an FYI: My review of The Mountain of Long Eyes, a sci-fi and fantasy anthology by Thomas Wm. Hamilton, has just gone live on Bookpleasures.com: http://goo.gl/WEK8o. For those who love the genre, you will find some stories here that reminded me of Phillip K. Dick and C. M. Kornbluth-acerbic and witty.

Hello and thanks for welcoming me into your group. While I have always loved the short story form and have been writing them for what seems like my entire life, I simply hate the genre and category labels imposed by agents and publishers. Don’t get me wrong, I love good sci-fi. But most all of my work, including my first novel Elysian Dreams is…[Read more]

I’m having trouble labeling my current project as well. It is a mixture of fantasy, horror, and sci-fi. It was also suggested to me that I write in a style for the YA group, so I’m a bit confused on that as well. I think that mature adults would enjoy this story as well. I agree with you, I don’t want to alienate any select group of potential…[Read more]

Lisa, first of all you know I sympathize, labeling a book is tricky. It sounds to me that your book falls into literary fiction, depending of course on how much of it really is fantasy, sci-fi, etc. Literary fiction is usually plot driven with strong characters and character development. Horror can be literary: Dracula, the works of Poe, etc. Most…[Read more]

Thanks for the input; it is much appreciated and good advice. I have two blogs where I post free stories: http://www.imaginationalley.wordpress.com and

          http://www.lisavandiver.blogspot.com

I’ve written two romance with steamy tones to it, however I love stories such as LOTR, and Harry Potter as does my seven year old so I decided to stir away…[Read more]
