Get the Copy + Song

It’s already time for second issue of the year, and even as I write this, the New Year’s cheers are only just dying down in my mind. Time moves all too quickly, I’ve come to realize, and as it moves, it brings in changes, sometimes subtle, sometimes sweeping.

One of the changes we in publishing have long been watching unfold is the transition into the digital form. The eFiction family is a perfect example of how digital publishing has thrown open the doors to the previously ex¬clusive club of “published authors”. But with digital publishing, come the pitfalls that plague every artist, in every field – copyright infringement.

While we do understand the need for commercial sales of creative content (how else are we to pay our rent!), the world is changing and we may need to change with it, sooner or later. Several artists provide their work under the creative commons license, rendering the line between what’s commercial and what’s not, blurred over time, and among these is debutant director Tejas Padia, whose movie Lo Ho Gai Party is available for free viewing online. Curious? Read on for the review!

The highlight of this issue is a poem “You And I” by Vineet Mittal. Why? Flip the pages to the small footnote at the end of the poem.

Surprise! Surprise!

Also in this issue are two interviews with authors who come from very different backgrounds, but share a common love for writing. Ananya Dhawan does a wonderful job, asking the right questions and giving our readers a wonderful insight into the minds of successful writers.

On an aside, we strive to bring you the best we can every month, and we always hope it brightens your day whenever you sit back to read an issue of eFiction India.

Have a good one!
